Okay, let’s get right down to business. I have played World of Warcraft for the past 2 years, but was forced to quit about 2 and 1/2 months ago. I asked to play two nights ago and my dad made me do research on WoW addictions. The next night my dad and mom had an arguement, because my dad wasn’t even going to consider letting me play, but he had told me he would be “open”.

I found this almost to be humiliating, he had lied to me.

First of all, I’d like to get one thing straight. I am not a bad student, I am not a fat person who sits around doing nothing all day. I am in wrestling and football, on the starting football team, and in the hardest weight group on my wrestling team. I make straight A’s except for a B is Spanish (that class is hard). He is telling me that playing WoW alters my “balance” when I kept doing those things the previous 2 years WHILE PLAYING WORLD OF WARCRAFT.

I need to know what you guys think.

Thank you.

Hello, I am a 14 year old boy who has played World of Warcraft for the past two years.
My parents have taken away this game a few months ago, and I have been wanting to play this game again.
Here are my reasons for wanting to play.

1. Cheap Entertainment (much less than going to the movies every weekend)
2. Playing with friends. (all but one of my friends play)
3. Learning life skills. (yes, much to opposite belief, World of Warcraft teaches many life skills such as self awareness, strategies, problem solving, etc)
4. Boredom. Here was my day today: Wake up, go to school, come home, program on the computer (yes, I program with C++, Python and GML), go on a hike, eat dinner, and here I am. Most teenagers have no idea what programming is. I started when I was ten years old.

Here are my parents reasons for not leting me play.

1. Balance (I can spend too much time on it)
2. It conflicts with our schedule
3. I can spend too much time on it.
4. Addictiveness

I’m just wondering, is there a difference between Warcraft and World of Warcraft? Because, my dad bought a Battle Chest that has “Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos”, “Warcraft III: Frozen Throne” and two guides for those games in it.
I was watching him play and I thought it was the same as World of Warcraft but the graphics are a lot different. In Warcraft III, the graphics are all birds eye viewish and a little bit cartoonish and in WoW, it looks a lot more realistic and it’s not birds eye view.
In his game, I saw that he was building stuff and I remember playing WoW with my friend at her house a long time ago, and you were killing dragons and stuff.
He says he has Warcraft III online but he didn’t pay anything. Do you have to pay to get online with Warcraft III?
So, is there a difference between them?
I don’t know, I’m really confused..

Oh and in WoW, can you play it just single player or do you HAVE to get online? I’ve just been wondering that, too.

Hello all. I play a popular online MMORPG called World of Warcraft. I am recieving a message that states that I am experiencing a WoW Error (a W.orld o.f W.arcraft Error). This is the message I am recieving…

This application has encountered a critical error:

ERROR #134 (0×85100086) Fatal Condition
Program:C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WoW.exe

Failed to open archive interface.MPQ: The system cannot find the file specified.

Now when i attempt to WoW repair it states that WoW is ‘’seriously damaged and will need to be reverted to an earlier version”. When i click okay it then states that ”the amount of data required to repair World of Warcraft is too large.” then it says ”Please reinstall. ”
When i try to uninstall it says ” Sorry, uninstallation failed ”Uninstall.xml” could not be read ”

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Best Regards,
Shaolin

I am planning to go online with my gaming, and am torn between getting Xbox Live on my 360 or World of Warcraft on my PC.

With Xbox Live I would be able to play Halo, Gears of War and several other games online against anyone in the world.

With World of Warcraft, I’ll have a single, but great, game to play on and on and on.

Any help would be appreciated.

BTW: I cannot get both. At least not currently. I can only pick one and give up on the other until I can afford ANOTHER monthly subscription fee.
