A lot of people like to play the World of Warcraft Board Game with three characters on each side. Unless you find two-on-two play undesirable, I would recommend this for you. It will shorten your game play significantly.
While one faction is taking its turn, the player(s) in the other faction should be planning what they will do on their next turn. Getting certain cards ready, planning where the characters in your faction will move on their next turn, etc. will be very helpful in shortening your game.
One of the most time-consuming parts of a game turn is combat. You have to figure out what dice you are eligible to roll, roll them, count hits, and so on. My advice is to go to a good game store and purchase a complete set of dice (seven d8s in each of the three colors) for each character in the game. Each collection of 21 dice will probably run you around $15. If you don’t have enough money to pay for five such sets of dice, even one or two extra sets will be helpful.
Then you can ready your dice for any combat during your down time and have them ready to go when it is your turn. When the character engages a creature or opposing player character, you just pick up the dice and roll. I have found this to be a major time-saver in my games. – LJS
