My brother plays WoW (with both expansions, BC and WotLK) and I want to play, too. I do not want to buy it, get the free trial from the website (which only gives you what you explore anyway), or have to torrent it from the internet. If I get his discs and try to use them on my computer, will it work, or is there some copy-specific code on the discs that I’d have to enter and it’d recognize as already in use?

How do you install world of warcraft twice on mac, Whenever I insert the install disc there is just a “play” and no “install” button. I have deleted the alias and it still does not work. Also, if anyone knows it would be useful to know if I could downgrade from the 1.12 patch to the 1.80 patch. Thanks!

Shaolin asked:

Hello all. I play a popular online MMORPG called World of Warcraft. I am recieving a message that states that I am experiencing a WoW Error (a W.orld o.f W.arcraft Error). This is the message I am recieving…

This application has encountered a critical error:

ERROR #134 (0×85100086) Fatal Condition
Program:C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WoW.exe

Failed to open archive interface.MPQ: The system cannot find the file specified.

Now when i attempt to WoW repair it states that WoW is ‘’seriously damaged and will need to be reverted to an earlier version”. When i click okay it then states that ”the amount of data required to repair World of Warcraft is too large.” then it says ”Please reinstall. ”
When i try to uninstall it says ” Sorry, uninstallation failed ”Uninstall.xml” could not be read ”

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Best Regards,
Shaolin

When i log onto World of Warcraft, sometimes it runs fine, but most of the time i can only play for 10 mins tops, or not even have my character be loaded into the game, before my comp freezes. Sometimes it stays frozen, and i have to manually shut it down, other times it goes black, and brings up a blue screen that says:
“We have shut down your computer to prevent further damage. The driver was stuck in an infinante loop. This may be caused by the following files: nv4_disp.”
Then i shut down my comp manually, wait a few mins, and reboot it. A few mins after that, i will click on World of Warcraft again. It pulls up the login, and char screen fine, but it either shuts down as it’s loading, or very shortly after my char is in the game. I have tried reinstalling my comp, support from blizz, not running anything in the backround while running World of Warcraft, but nothing seems to help. When the comp shuts down it’s really random and unexpected. Please respond! I really need help!!!!!!!
I have the newest version of the video driver.
I have a windows XPS.

The file “C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Blizzard Entertainment\World of Warcraft\Uninstall.xml” could not be renamed to “C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Blizzard Entertainment\World of Warcraft\Uninstall.xml.Trash”. (ConflictManager::ResolveConflicts/3)

To check this installation for problems, click the “Repair” button. The Repair tool can automatically fix many update errors.

I did the repair and still no good. Help is greatly appreciated!

I’ve tried installing a few times and I get the same error everytime. If anyone knows what to do or at least has some knowledge in this area and can guess what the problem is that’d be great.

Thanks guys
Problem is fixed, I was reading the error and it was located in my C drive and I installed WoW in a different drive so I just deleted the file and it installed with no problems.

Sarah Ohs asked:

Alright, first of all I would like to say that I am no computer wizz, so pardon my lack of proper computer terminology, if any is said. I bought my boyfriend a new computer, mainly for better framerate and graphics as he plays World of Warcraft. It is an emachine and includes Windows Vista. Great computer from what I was told. Well the problem is that he at first had problems installing World of Warcraft. It would stop at about 98% and told him there was an error. So after trying and trying and reinstalling it finally finished. When the World of Warcraft loading screen popped up, he click “Play”…and it just went away. Nothing happened.
He then installed Windows Pro. It only recognizes dial-up..which we don’t have. So, no internet, no game. He reinstalled Vista, the game downloaded fine, and now he can actually play.
It looks like crap. Even though the moniter I got him is HUGE and is high definition I believe. And the framerate is awful. What is the deal? Did I waste my money? Help
